Demonstrators

Demonstrator 1: MUGV

The Mini Unmanned Ground Vehicle 1 (MUGV) of AeroSpy is the first demonstrator which allowed AeroSpy to show the capabilities of Sense and Avoid concepts.
In the product version the vehicle is able to navigate from waypoint to waypoint autonomously submitted by the groundstation system. Further it is prepared for Sense and Avoid with one camera and multiple ultrasonic sensors. The MUGV 1 system consists of a Mini Unmanned Ground Vehicle (this module is based on a commercially available remote controlledvehicle), Sense and Avoid Sensors, the autopilot system AP1 and the groundstation module.

The MUGV is
  • an ideal teaching object for universities to study Sense and Avoid on ground vehicles
  • toy for RC plane enthusiasts and technology interested hobbyists

Demonstrator 2: UAV Quadcopter

This Demonstrator shows the high performance of the AP1 by stabilizing and controlling a VTOL quadcopter. In order to fly the unstable system of a quadcopter update rates of at least 250 Hz are reguired. The autopilot also shows its excellent vibration rejection by hovering absolutely plain if no flight commands are given. The quadcopter features attitude control and full position control via the groundstation.
The quadcopter weights 900 grams and is able to hover for 20 minutes. It can carry additional payload of up to 300 grams and to exploration of up to 20 minutes.

The quadcopter is a
  • commercial product for security purposes and observation
  • platform for aerial imaging
  • toy for RC plane enthusiasts and technology interested hobbyists
  • an ideal teaching object for universities or can function as a sensor platform for research

Demonstrator 3: UAV Aircraft

This Demonstrator shows the high performance of the AP1 by stabilizing and controlling a fixed wing aircraft. The UAV features attitude control and full position control via the ground station. The UAV weights 1000 grams and is able to fly for 45 minutes. It can carry additional payload of up to 150 grams.

The aircraft is a
  • commercial product for security purposes and observation
  • platform for aerial imaging
  • toy for RC plane enthusiasts and technology interested hobbyists
  • ideal teaching object for universities or can function as a sensor platform for research
