In 2006 Michael Naderhirn, a Mechatronic graduate of the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria decided to bring together his passion for flying and his professional expertise after gaining experience in several projects. These projects dealt with the field of navigation (UCLA – DARPA Grand Challenge 2005) and mobile robotics (Johannes Kepler University – Austrian Armed Forces)

By the end of 2007 Johannes Hofer, a Johannes Kepler University of Linz graduate who holds a master in economics, joined the company as CFO. Prior joining AeroSpy he held several management positions.
